Onibury Village Hall is a small, but well used facility at the heart of the parish. Current users largely meet running costs, and the committee have kept the building in sound structural condition, with a reasonably healthy bank balance. However, the Hall is facing new challenges.

The Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and Booking Secretary have all stated their intention to stand down by the Annual General Meeting due in March 2024.

To meet these challenges, the committee needs to recruit new members from the parish and surrounding area to make sure this valuable facility continues to thrive in the years to come. Hopefully new ideas for parish events and opportunities for the Village Hall would result.

So, if you are willing and able to commit a small amount of time to help the future running please feel free to contact the current Chair, Tony Mantle on 01588-674792 for an insight .

The alternative in failing to recruit new volunteers is not to be taken lightly; in all likelihood a process of closing the Hall would need to be entered into. Onibury is one of only a handful of villages in South Shropshire that has its church and village hall in close proximity, and it would be a catastrophic loss to the community if this course of action became necessary.
